Just a typical day at the zoo. Daddy and his girls are strolling to look at the visitors as they take in every movement by the 3 new cubs. There are extra special photographers here today. I can tell by the giant lenses and fancy camera bodies being used.
I really don’t like shooting in bright sunlight. It’s difficult to display detail in fur that looks blown out, ie. overexposed. I had to use a few processing tricks to save this photo. The male’s legs were too bright to to bring back whatever detail was there I darkened the area slightly, bumped the saturation just a bit and finally added more structure to bring out the fur. It’s a balancing act to make it look natural and untweeted.
The cub had the opposite problem, running ahead of daddy she was in partial shade that require careful lightening to balance out…
